My Story
What I Specialize In
When I first began receiving Myofascial Release treatments over 5 years ago, I would have never believed that how I feel today was even possible. I had a long history of severe anxiety, chronic lower back pain, hormonal imbalance, sciatica, which later developed into uterine fibroids, endometriosis, and inflammation throughout my body, with significant restrictions in my ability to take a full breath and a host of other symptoms. This way of feeling progressively became "my norm". I tried chiropractic, massage, physical therapy, naturopathy, other alternative approaches, surgery, and pharmaceuticals and I was unable to get the long-term results or answers I was looking for. The first 6 sessions I received from an OT/Myofascial Release Specialist, finally gave me the hope to begin to change my story. To finally realize pain and anxiety were NOT my destiny. And that I was meant to live free in my body and to live a fully active life. There are days now I wake up with no pain and most of my "chronic conditions" I no longer experience. My anxiety symptoms have improved significantly and I have sustained that over an extended period of time. I can honestly say I feel amazing (comparatively) most days; physically, emotionally and mentally. That is why Myofascial Release will forever be apart of my life and how I care for my body and mind. It has changed my life. It has given me long term results and a FEELING that is invaluable. That is why I am so passionate about sharing it with the world, and helping people get out of pain and on a path of feeling their "new" best, despite what you may have been told by others.
In 2019 I began studying John F. Barnes Myofascial Release Approach. I have completed over 200 hours of training, including attendance at 4 national MFR seminars as well as one-on-one training, treatment and mentorships with expert MFR practitioners at the Myofascial Release Clinic in Malvern, PA, Meditouch in Bellvue, WA as well as other practitioners throughout the U.S. This work is truly the wellspring of my practice and gift of passion.

In using this approach as a primary modality, it has offered clients an entirely new way of understanding their body and instilling an overall sense of "freedom" and trust in their bodies natural healing process. With the combination of hands-on myofascial release and mindfulness-based approaches, I help guide clients in understanding how stress, belief systems, movement patterns, and body-breath awareness may be influenced by their healing process. The overall objective is in helping clients gain the qualities needed to reach their full independence and infinite human potential while utilizing these deeply therapeutic practices.

What are people saying about Myofascial Release?...........
I can highly recommend Tara Clemens for myofascial release bodywork. I went to see Tara with a very painful arthritic shoulder. At the time I was barely able to drive due to the pain and stiffness in my left shoulder. After just one treatment my pain decreased by 80%. I am now able to drive and move my shoulder without pain. My mobility did not improve due to the extensive joint damage; however, I am able to function pain free now. Her treatments also released stiffness in my back that had caused me to walk in a slightly bent posture. She intuitively worked with me in a gentle, relaxing way that always left me feeling better. Tara is a caring, warm person who I immediately felt at ease with.
Tara is also a trained occupational therapist. She was able to teach me techniques that helped me with my day to day struggles. Tara also gave me exercises to do at home that helped strengthen my arms, back and shoulders. Her training as an OT complemented the myofascial release bodywork in a way that provided me with practical, long lasting help. I can highly recommend Tara to anyone who has pain of any kind and to anyone who wants to improve their overall well-being.

Tara's Myofascial Therapy has helped to greatly reduce pain in my hip due to a ski fall. While I still have some pain, progress continues, and I can look forward to being pain-free. Tara is experienced and uniquely sensitive to all the areas that need attention. She is insightful and has facilitated greater awareness of the mind-body relationship. I have been skiing for over 50 years, including more than 25 seasons as a professional ski instructor and patroller. And, now this year, I have had the best performance of my life. Tara's work has helped make this possible.
